Billiardclick.com managed to get a few minutes to interview the World famous snooker player and coach Terry Griffiths What’s been your best achievement to date? Winning the world championship in 1979 was my best achievement What gives you a continual thirst for the game? It’s the love for the game keeps me interested Do you have any Plans for a comeback? I have tried but I have a frozen shoulder that stops me from making the practice. What advances do you think could be made in snooker to make it better? Not a lot really. There’s not much that needs changing What do you think of the new interactive services that television offers? I think that the service is useful as it allows more of the sport to be shown Have you ever played for money on a snooker game? I never gamble with snooker. The true challenge is winning. Do you have any philosophies that help you in your coaching? Just to work hard and give it your best. There is a difference between practice and match play. A lot of people can play good in practice. What are the best habits to learn in order to win games? You must enjoy playing the game for one thing and you must play at competition level to see how you cope with pressure. What do you think about pool? The American 9ball is a good sport as is the 8ball but it’s a different game such as football is to rugby. I think that there is a greater skill level in the large table because of having to be accurate for long shots for a start. What do you think of the reports that snooker may leave the cruicable? I would be devastated really. It’s where history has been made in snooker. It would be sad to see it leave. It’s special to all of the players as well as it’s where they want to go and win the world championship.
